“972 – Promoting Independent Journalism” is run by Israeli and Palestinian journalists who are committed to the struggle against apartheid and for democracy, equality, justice and freedom of information and the press.
The heart of our work is the publication of two news sites: +972 Magazine (English) and Local Call (Hebrew), the latter published in partnership with Just Vision. Both sites are home to independent journalism, which includes news from the field, investigative reports, analysis, and commentary, while maintaining high standards of journalistic integrity and credibility.
We are committed to diversity in our team, and we are particularly interested in receiving resumes of women, Palestinians, and members of the LGBTQ community.

Local Call
Our team has been devastated by the horrific events of this latest war – the atrocities committed by Hamas in Israel and the massive retaliatory Israeli attacks on Gaza. Our hearts are with all the people and communities facing violence.
We are in an extraordinarily dangerous era in Israel-Palestine. The bloodshed unleashed by these events has reached extreme levels of brutality and threatens to engulf the entire region. Hamas’ murderous assault in southern Israel has devastated and shocked the country to its core. Israel’s retaliatory bombing of Gaza is wreaking destruction on the already besieged strip and killing a ballooning number of civilians. Emboldened settlers in the West Bank, backed by the army, are seizing the opportunity to escalate their attacks on Palestinians.
This escalation has a very clear context, one that +972 has spent the past 13 years covering: Israeli society’s growing racism and militarism, the entrenched occupation, and an increasingly normalized siege on Gaza.
We are well positioned to cover this perilous moment – but we need your help to do it. This terrible period will challenge the humanity of all of those working for a better future in this land. Palestinians and Israelis are already organizing and strategizing to put up the fight of their lives.
Can we count on your support? +972 Magazine is the leading media voice of this movement, a desperately needed platform where Palestinian and Israeli journalists and activists can report on and analyze what is happening, guided by humanism, equality, and justice. Join us.

Why become a member of +972?
+972 Magazine is an independent, nonprofit media organization of Israeli and Palestinian journalists that relies on the support of readers like you.
Through our groundbreaking reporting on the ground and critical analysis, we spotlight the people and communities working to oppose occupation and apartheid, and promote justice and equality for all those living between the river and the sea.
In order to foster real and meaningful change, we have to be able to do this work in the long run. That means paying our Palestinian and Israeli journalists, as well as providing them with the necessary legal protections as they report from the frontlines. We have to ensure that we keep reaching millions of people around the world — from policymakers to grassroots activists to regular readers — with the reliable information they need. We remain committed to allowing people access to this information with no paywalls or ads. To do all that, we need your support.
By becoming a member with a monthly contribution of any size (which you can cancel at any time), you will allow us to sustain this work and reach millions of new readers. We know how to change the conversation on Israel-Palestine. Will you help us to make that happen?
