The cyclone and flood which severely affected over two million people in 15 districts and destroyed roads and communication network in Baluchistan-Pakistan. The provincial government of Balochistan has confirmed hundreds of deaths and said that the toll could increase as a large number of people are still missing. Although flood waters are now receding in places, tens of thousands of people are homeless and without livelihood, having lost their possessions.
The flood has left an urgent need for food, shelter and medical assistance . The unavailability of food, pure water, medicines and shelter, expose the affected population to further increase in the diseases, epidemics and casualties. In order to rescue the people in the devastated areas, civil society organization in Balochistan are in close coordination with government and other relief agencies.
IDSP-Pakistan strive to activate its extensive networks particularly with its learners in the affected areas, so that to work out viable strategies for rescuing the people and contribute in the provision of need based relief goods and services.. IDSP is also in close coordination with Ketch Relief Forum in Turbat, and is member of NGOs Coordination committee for Relief efforts in Quetta.
IDSP has activated its district campuses at Khuzdar and Sibi for coordinating the relief activities with civil society organization,govt and other relief agencies. At this stage the affected communities need our support for rescuing their lives, our minute contribution can certainly minimize their miseries. IDSP-Pakistan need your immediate support in cash or in kind for the relief activities in the flood affected areas of Balochistan.
