Dear all,
Via Campesina, WEED, ATTAC Germany, Gerechtlichkeit Jetzt, the German Network on global agriculture and other organizations are organizing an action against the G4 meeting next Tuesday in Potsdam.
The trade ministers of the G4, the four main powers at WTO (European Union, United States, Brazil and India) will meet next week in Potsdam, Germany, from the 19th to the 23rd June to try to achieve a breakthrough in the World Trade Organization negociations.
The main powers at the WTO are now trying to achieve an agreement by late July. Once again, trade negociators have chosen to speed up the process in Europe during the traditionnal summer break to prevent any people’s protest. This G4 meeting, where trade ministers will meet for an unusually long period of time (5 days!) is expected to play a key role in the possible breakthrough.
An urgent call for action will be sent around as soon as possible.
The action will start at 11:00 at the central gate in Potsdam (city center). From there, a demonstration will go up to the venue where the G4 ministers are meeting, at Schlosshotel Cecilienhof, in the park of Postdam. Giant puppets will join the protest at the entrance of the park.
Best
Morgan
