Dear friends,
We’re writing you just to share some ideas about the next meeting of Social Movements Network on 1st june in Rostock.
Until now there’s not any proposal about the agenda for the meeting and we wonder if is possible to advance in two questions: the agenda and the chair team for the meeting.
About the agenda, in our point of view and taking in consideration that we only have a day we ask you to have two sessions in the meeting:
– the first one in the morning to talk and achieve agreements on the global day of actions (what t slogan and issues, how to build the necessary alliances to mobilize?, which kind of mobilization: country by country, regional...?, common propaganda, etc.);
– the second one after lunch specially focused on the network: how to build the network? Do we need a tractor team to feed the process? How to improve the net and to strengthen the relationship among the social movements?, practicalities...
On the chair team, this is our proposal: one person from the host Country and: one other from Via Campesina, Focus On the Global
South and the World March of Women.
On the translation it is arranged the technical means to guarantee the translation to four languages: German, French, English and Castilian, but we need to find volunteers for interpretation.
Finally, remember that the social movements attending the meeting of the WSF’s IC on 29th of May will have a meeting on 29th to talk both about the agenda of the IC. The venue of the meeting is ithe same hotel of the IC at 7PM.
As you know it’s important to achieve some consensus on these points to made efficient the meeting-
