However, the Left Party has recently provoked a storm of criticism as the only Swedish party opposed to the supply of weapons to Ukraine, basing this on the historic policy of neutrality for Sweden.
The Left Party’s mixed position has caused harsh criticism from all sides: for some, the Left Party betrayed the principles and bent under the Western Euro-Atlantic imperialism, for others, the Left Party demonstrated hidden reluctance to take decisive actions against Putin’s imperialism.

At the solidarity action in Lund, it was possible to see the different positions of the party activists. Trying to explain how, for over 30 years, they have been consistently against the Swedish military industrial complex and weapons exports. But no one could ever imagine a war could start quite nearby. So, they took time to rethink today.
As if apologizing and reclaiming their solidarity, the party orchestra played the national anthem of Ukraine.
