MANILA, Philippines — A Mindanao-based party-list group is seeking the preventive suspension of its own representative to the House of Representatives.
The national council of Anak-Mindanao has filed a resolution before the committee on ethics against Representative Mujiv Hataman, although the House body refused to disclose details of the case except to say it was an “internal affair” of the party-list.
INQUIRER.net could not immediately get the reaction of Hataman, who was at the police Criminal Investigation and Protection Group to give his statement on allegations linking him to the bombing at the Batasan complex last week that killed Basilan Representative Wahab Akbar and three other persons, and wounded 13 more, including two other lawmakers.
The committee, headed by Romblon Representative, Eleandro Madrona is set to hear Hataman’s case on Tuesday.
