JOURNALISTS ARE NOT TARGETS! END THE OCCUPATION!
SHUT DOWN NETANYAHU’S IMPUNITY! JUSTICE FOR THE WAR VICTIMS!
This deliberate strike is a grave violation of international humanitarian law, silencing voices from occupied territories and extinguishing the truths journalists risk their lives to deliver.
According to Al Jazeera, a drone attack hit a tent for journalists stationed outside Gaza City’s al-Shifa Hospital, killing seven people in total. Among the dead were correspondents Anas al-Sharif and Mohammed Qreiqeh, camera operators Ibrahim Zaher, Moamen Aliwa, and Mohammed Noufal, as well as freelance reporter Mohammad al-Khaldi. Reporters Without Borders confirmed three additional journalists were injured, and Reuters reported another civilian fatality from the same strike.
The sixth journalist, Mohammad al-Khaldi, a local freelance reporter, was also reported killed in the air attack. Reporters Without Borders said three more journalists were wounded in the same strike. Reuters news agency reported that another person was also killed in the attack.
Updated figures from the Committee to Protect Journalists, the International Federation of Journalists, Al Jazeera, and shireen.ps show that, since the start of the latest Israel’s military offensive in Gaza in October 2023, 269 Palestinian, 3 Lebanese, and 2 Israeli journalists have been killed. Civilian casualties now exceed 61,430, with countless children, women, and elders facing starvation due to the ongoing blockade.
We call on the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and the Philippine government to:
• Unequivocally condemn Israel’s continued attacks on journalists and civilians.
• Demand an immediate end to the mass killing and humanitarian blockade.
• Cut all economic, military, and diplomatic ties with the Netanyahu government until it complies with international law.
Silence is complicity. We must stand for Palestine’s freedom and hold those responsible for war crimes accountable.
End the Occupation! Hold Netanyahu and his cabinet accountable! End the Killings of Journalists! Uphold the propagation of TRUTH and FACTS, FIGHT Against LIES and DISINFORMATION!
