On the occasion of the 7^th year of the reorganization of the Communist Party of Bangladesh-ML (CPBML), a discussion meeting was held at the party’s central office in Dhaka on 29 December 2024. The discussion was held under the title ’Our tasks in the new political context after the 5^th August Uprising’.

CPBML General Secretary Comrade Badrul Alam presided over the meeting while CPBML Politburo member Zayed Iqbal Khan, Bangladesh Sramik Federation President AAM Fayez Hossain, Readymade Garments Workers Federation President Lovely Yasmin, Sammilito Sramik Federation General Secretary Nahid Hasan Nayan, Bangladesh National Sramik Federation General Secretary Maryam Akhter Shiuli, Jago Bangladesh Garments Sramik Federation President Baharane Sultan Bahar, media activist Mosharraf Hossain Khan Badal, human rights activist Sheikh Faruk Hossain, etc. spoke.

The discussion meeting discussed the domestic and international political situation in detail.

The speakers emphasized the importance of establishing the counter-hegemony of the working class in the social, political, economic and psychological fields of the bourgeoisie to establish a truly discrimination-free society. To this end, a year-long program was announced to strengthen the party. The discussion meeting decided to hold a party congress next year.

Furthermore, the speakers proposed organizing the working people, taking the party’s message to the villages, forming women’s committees in various fields, bringing back laundered money to the country from abroad and building factories and industries for the working-class interest, banning bureaucratic politics, preventing climate change and achieving rapid and just transition in the labor arena, continuing processions and meetings in the field by selecting appropriate issues under the leadership of the party, continuing study circles and workshops, bringing creativity to the program and making good use of social media.

At the discussion meeting, Comrade Badrul Alam emphasized on utilizing the opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and called for countering its negative aspects that are against the interests of the workers. In his speech, he mentioned the division of communist politics and said that the new political reality that has emerged in the country after August 5 must be transformed into a movement for the liberation of the working people. He called on all the party leaders and workers to play a responsible role from their respective positions in forming the party.
