Introduction of Crofter Foundation:

Crofter Foundation is registered social organisation founded in 2017 and working for peasants and small-scale farmers working to:

(i) improve rural income and livelihoods of small-scale farmers;

(ii) improve household food and nutrition security and food sovereignty by family farming;

(iii) support the transition from subsistence farming to commercial farming; and

(iv) promote environmentally friendly farming

Crofter Foundation has helped the farmers to bring together to discuss possibilities of organising a federal based new peasant organisation with the help of its sister organisation Pakistan Kissan Rabita Committee. It has organised on line meeting to discuss the present situation of the farmers and how to meet those challenges.

Crofter Foundation is in a process of helping farmers organisations to finalise their business plan s that could generate their income through minimum expenditures.

Crofter Foundation is also in a process to help build the provincial networks of peasant organisations through helping the affiliated farmers organisations to strengthen their organizational and

To give a voice to peasant women in Pakistan

1. To bring peasants and small-scale farmers at one platform

2. Build strong movements on land rights, women’s right to inheritance, food sovereignty and water rights

3. To involve more youth, women and small-scale farmers in agriculture activities and to support them to find better opportunities for agriculture business and cooperatives

Crofter Foundation is a network of 26 farmers’ organizations and groups; they are all small-scale farmers. This network is based in Lahore but outreach is to FOs in all four provinces and Gilgit Baltistan too. CF is very much committed to provide better services and making change in the lives of small-scale farmers. CF is building its capacity since it has been registered in 2018. To provide economic services, better marketing and build the capacity of their own and also other FOs is already in process.
