Call for support to the homeless people of Nagai Park at Osaka faced with eviction on 5th February
The Japanese Embassy in France refused to receive delegation of NO-VOX!
No-vox delegation visited the Japanese Embassy to hand over the petition in solidarity with homeless people of Nagai Park. As the Embassy had called the police in spite of their engagement made by telephone to receive the petition, on our arrival, they didn’t let us go inside. The list of the members of delegation had been given to the police by the Embassy in advance. This attitude of the Japanese Embassy, with no respect to civil society, is an insult against the international solidarity expressed by associations and trade unions in solidarity with homeless people of Nagai Park in Osaka.
We affirm again our solidarity and support for homeless people of Nagai Park in Osaka. The eviction is not a solution to the problem faced by homeless people.
We protest the eviction of the homeless people of Nagai Park and request the negociation with the Osaka City.
Faced with the eviction in 5 February, we call for suspension of the eviction procedure, negociation with homeless people.
Please send protest to Park Office of Osaka city

Call for support to the homeless people of Nagai Park
The Osaka city government announced the eviction of homeless people of Nagai Park for the IAAF World Championships in Athletics which will be held in August. Evacuation will take place on 5th February.
In Osaka, more than 700 homeless people are living in parks. Main reason of their homelessness is unemployment after the Japanese economic recession during the 1990s. But the government reduced the social welfare for vulnerable people such a dramatical way that many young people and single mothers are becoming homeless.
Faced with the eviction in 5 February, we call for suspension of the eviction procedure, negociation with homeless people.
