The central objective of the program was to take a united stand against inequality, tyranny, genocide, destruction, and disorder, and to ensure a safe and healthy future for all.
At a time when powerful governments worldwide are leaning towards authoritarianism and delaying or undermining climate commitments, the program carries a message of new solidarity. Organizers emphasized that urgent steps must be taken against the devastation caused by the climate crisis, and that it is essential to stand for people’s power, democracy, and a just future. Participants raised their voices against corporate greed, fossil fuel dependence, patriarchy, racism, and systemic injustice.
The sit-in was moderated by Imran Hossain, Senior Officer—Research and Campaign of the Center for Participatory Research and Development (CPRD). Solidarity was expressed by representatives of Bangladesh Krishok Federation, BRIGHTERS, CPRD, DHORA, EquityBD, Mission Green Bangladesh, Noakhali Grameen Unnayan Sangstha, OAB Foundation, Sundarban and Coastal Protection Movement, Bangladesh Hawkers Federation, and 350.org.
Key speakers included:

Mostafa Kamal Akand, Network and Mobilizing Coordinator of EquityBD: “Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere. Our stance is against all forms of global injustice and inequality.”
ASM Badrul Alam, Chairman of Bangladesh Krishok Federation: “Today we draw the line against land grabbers, against poverty, against genocide, against brutality, and against all forms of inequality.”
Abul Hossain, President of Bangladesh Hawkers Federation: “Democracy is shrinking while capitalism expands. Where capitalism reigns, exploitation persists. We must revive democracy and resist injustice.”
Nikhil Chandra Bhodro, Coordinator of Sundarban and Coastal Protection Movement: “The lives of coastal people are under constant threat. Despite repeated calls, no action is taken. We urge the government to protect the Sundarbans.”

Faisal Ahmed, Editor of River Bangla and member of DHORA: “Because of destructive projects by powerful states, our planet is becoming uninhabitable. We are determined to build a just society for all.”
