There are the results of the Greek elections. The Right remains in goiverment athough it lost about 4%. The Socialists were destroyed (they lost for secont time and they are looking for a new leader). The Left had its best result since the 60’s. The extreme right enters the Perliament (first time since 1977). Good result for the Greens.
These are the results in details:
ND (conservatives): 41.84 %. 2,995,358 votes, 152 seats (45.36 % on 2004)
PASOK (socialists): 38.10 %, 2,727,577 votes, 102 seats (40.55 % on 2004)
KKE (Communist party): 8.15 %, 583,743 votes, 22 seats (5.89 % on 2004)
SYRIZA (Coalition of the Radical Left): 5.04 %, 361,191 14 votes (3.26 % on 2004)
Syriza is composed by Synaspismos (European Left Party), DIKKI (former PASOK members), KOE (marxist leninists, antiimperialist component of the ESF), AKOA (eurocommunists), DEA (a split of the SWP), Kokkino (a group related to the 4th International) and many social movements activists.
LAOS (Popular Orthodox Alarm, exteme rigth): 3.80 %, 271,746 votes, 10 seats, (2.19 % on 2004)
Ecologists Greens: 1.05 %, 75,440 votes (first participation in national elections)
KKE (m-l) (Commulist Party-marxist leninist) 0.24 %, 17,541 (0.15 % on 2004)
MERA-Front of Radical Left (radical groups which organized the counter- european forum on 2006) 0.17 %, 11,864 (0.15 % on 2004)
EN..ANTI.A.-Unitary Radical Left (SWP, Fourth International Greek section, and other groups): 0.15 %, 10,607 (first participation)
ML-KKE (Marxist Leninist Communist Party) 0.11 %, 8,094 (0.06 % on 2004)
