On 13 April, Pakistani academic and activist and ESSF contributor [1]Dr. Ammar Ali Jan was sacked from his job as an assistant professor at Punjab University in Lahore, ostensibly for expressing solidarity with the Pashtun Tahafuz [Protection] Movement, a civil rights group spearheaded by Pakistan’s second largest ethnic minority, the Pashtuns.
