Labour Party Pakistan condemns the hanging of Saddam Hussain. The allied forces show trial through the so-called Iraqi judges are just an eye wash. . It is a cold blooded murder. It shows the oppression of the American imperialism on a nation.

Hanging of Saddam Hussain has nothing to do with sectarianism and Sunny and Shia issue. It is a political assassination. Justice is not been done in this case and violation of human rights to defend himself has been violated.

Saddam Hussain case must have been dealt by the Iraqi people while they were free of the imperialist occupations. He should have been tried by a people’s war tribunal alongside with Bush and Blair.

The real aim of Sadam hanging is to give a message to the world that American imperialism will not tolerate anyone daring to challenge their hegemony over the world. The hanging on Edi ul Azha is a sheer arrogance of American imperialism. The hanging shows how insensitive the American imperialism has become towards the Muslim feelings for their holy days.

Labour Party Pakistan is opposed to death sentence to any one. Death sentences do not help to curb the crimes. On the contrary, it promotes crimes in many ways. It is a punishment for one time.

We are totally opposed to the crimes of Sadam Hussain. There is no justification or excuses for the heinous crimes Sadam had carried out throughout his power period. But the American imperialism is 10 times guiltier on the same grounds. It is Bush and Blair that are responsible for the killings of over half a million alone in Iraq case.

The occupied forces have no right to try any one in Iraq. The are the occupants of a nation. They are war criminals. They have killed many thousands. They had no justification to invade Iraq. All their excuses to attack Iraq proved wrong. They had lied. They had made innocent people to pay for the crimes of the Sadam Hussain. Bush and Blair are happy with the hanging. But it will not solve anything. It will aggravate the civil war like situation in Iraq. It will provoke more reactions and it will make the Iraqi peoples life more insecure.

We demand an immediate end to occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan. Allied forces must leave Iraq immediately.
