JUSTICE FOR VIC PAGLINAWAN!
Ka Vic last attended a COIR partners consultations on Copra to CNO social enterprise training last November 19-21, 2008 at Ponce Suites before he was killed November 22, 5:30 PM by unidentified assailants wearing ski masks. Pattern of killing similar to the extrajudicial killings recently of Bayan Muna leaders in Compostela Valley and Davao del Norte. Paquibato district where Ka Vic lives is a known ’communist influenced’ barangay / district. The military as usual has officially denied involvement and points to the New People’s Army as possible culprits. The CPP-NPA-NDF is silent about the killing.
BftW and partners should condemn this dastardly act against a civilian and peasant leader asserting their rights over land and access to basic services from government.
